Getting There

We flew United Airlines via Houston to and from Cancun. There was a really good seat sale and because we were staying 10 days it worked best for us. We were able to upgrade to business class when we checked in from Houston to Cancun for $99 each. This turned out to be a great deals for a couple of reasons - we didn't have to pay $25 for our bags, we had access to the United Lounge in Houston (three hour layover), we had full service including a hot meal (lobster mac and cheese), we also were the 1st to get our bags when we arrived in Cancun! Money well spent. On the return we had a quick connection so just upgraded to the economy plus seats from Houston to Vancouver.

Los Cabos with Lisa

I was lucky enough be able to help plan and book my friend’s Destination Wedding to Los Cabos Mexico in October 2015 with her family and friends.

All-Inclusive destination weddings are extremely popular these days. This is a great option if you are looking for a fuss-free wedding where everything is handled for you. Most resorts have an on-site planner who will take care of every detail so you can relax and enjoy your big day. My friend, Amanda, decided to deal with the wedding planner direct so that she could make sure all the details that were important to her were taken care of. Read More...

Mexico with Katie

I absolutely loved the people of Playa Del Carmen, they welcome tourists with open arms and are very genuine. It is a beautiful part of Mexico with so much to offer.

The biggest advice I can give is to absolutely pay the additional $50.00 each direction for “plus” seats if travelling on Sunwing. Even better, try to grab exit row seats. The extra legroom of the “plus” seating is very nice but the even greater advantage is the separate check in. This is even more helpful when checking in at your destination as many of the airports are very congested and it makes your return journey so much more enjoyable. Read More...

Playa Del Carmen & Cancun with Brent

I had a fantastic opportunity to travel with the Sandos Hotels & Resort Company to Cancun, Mexico in June 2015.

Sandos has 3 very unique resorts, Sandos Playacar & Sandos Caracal (Playa Del Carmen/Riviera Maya) and Sandos Cancun (Cancun). With these resorts, they have got something for every traveller - a beach resort, an eco resort and a luxury resort.

When resorting, Sandos wants you to relax and truly enjoy the “All Inclusiv(er)” motto they have self-proclaimed. They definitely live up to their name.

Our first stop was at the Sandos Playacar Beach Resort and Spa located on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Riviera Maya and a short distance to Playa Del Carmen’s famous Fifth Avenue.

The Club Med Ixtapa is beautiful! Everything was always so clean, organized and comfortable. The grounds were kept so beautiful at all times, including the beach. It is lush and mountainous, absolutely stunning. The food is mainly buffet, but having said that, it was the best food I have ever had on a Mexican vacation. It was fabulous! Read More...
