Sandos has 3 very unique resorts, Sandos Playacar & Sandos Caracal (Playa Del Carmen/Riviera Maya) and Sandos Cancun (Cancun). With these resorts, they have got something for every traveller – a beach resort, an eco resort and a luxury resort.
When resorting, Sandos wants you to relax and truly enjoy the “All Inclusiv(er)” motto they have self-proclaimed. They definitely live up to their name.
Our first stop was at the Sandos Playacar Beach Resort and Spa located on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Riviera Maya and a short distance to Playa Del Carmen’s famous Fifth Avenue.
This resort is quite big, consisting of 819 rooms. Divided into 4 sections, Beach Section – with standard & superior rooms, Royal Elite Haciendas with private pool and Jacuzzi, Riviera Family Section and the Select Club adult only section.
Its beautiful grounds are quite lush and give the resort a very secluded island type of feel. This property is quite spread out and is a walker’s paradise. If walking is not your thing – not to worry- they have several shuttles all over the resort and will pick you up and take you to where you need to be within minutes.
While roaming around the resort, you are sure to see some of the exotic animals that call Sandos home. There are a few dogs, some cats, beautiful peacocks and several other birds.
If you’re a foodie, there are 7 al a carte restaurants to choose from and 3 buffets.
There are several sporting activities included from tennis to kayaking, to name just a few. They have a great kids club with a variety of daily experiences. The resort can accommodate weddings, meetings, banquets and conferences with ease. Of course, for wellness there is everything you need from the full service fitness centre, beauty salon to the 24 treatment rooms at the spa with Jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath. Some of the spa amenities & treatments are at an additional cost.
Located in Playa Del Carman, the Sandos Caracal Eco Resort & Spa is an ecologically rich, lush resort that lies at the edge of an exotic jungle.
Whether it’s exploring the natural lagoons, swimming in the cenotes, partaking in the wellness programs, enjoying the incredible dining experiences or just relaxing at the Cupcake cafe this resort has it all.
This is another very large resort, comprised of 956 rooms with 78 villas. Divided into 3 sections, Family section with deluxe rooms and junior suites, Select Club adult only section with superior, deluxe and penthouse suites and the Royal Elite section with superior, junior suites and penthouse suites all located nearby the beach.
The Xcalacoco (meaning twin coconut trees- mix of Spanish & Mayan language) experiences included are incredible. They include swimming in a cenote, exploring the Mangrove trails, wildlife and nature tours, Mayan Herbarium and Bird Sanctuary. My favorite experience was the Sensory experience – absolutely a must do! There are several very unique Mayan ceremonies amongst the ancient ruins.
There are a lot of activities included such as, yoga, tennis, volleyball, snorkelling, kayaking and amazing nightly shows.
The gastronomy options are great with 3 buffet restaurants (International, Mexican & Italian) and 6 a la cartes (Mediterranean, Steak & Fish, Japanese Teppanyaki, Italian, Brazillian Rodizio and Vegetarian).
The spa is one of the largest offering the most treatments I have seen. With 16 treatment rooms offering massages, facials and full-body treatments to Temazcal – indigenous steam baths with aromatic grasses along with full-service beauty salon and full-service fitness centre. Some of the spa amenities & treatments are at an additional cost.
My most favorite resort to date!
Located on one of the most beautiful beaches in Cancun, the Sandos Cancun luxury resort offers a perfect combination of beauty, sophistication, luxury and relaxation that creates an ideal place for the most elite travellers. As this boutique resort is in the hotel zone, it’s approximately a 5 minute walk to shopping and the vibrant nightlife of Cancun.
They host 214 luxury rooms and suites with magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea and the Nichupte Lagoon. Room categories include Superior, Deluxe, Lagoon Suite, Caribe Suite and the Presidential Suite.
Their exclusive Total Gourmet Experience includes more than twelve rotating menus in four restaurants with a range of flavours to delight any gourmand.
The spa is great with a multitude of services from massages, facials & body treatments to saunas, steam baths, Jacuzzis and cold tubs. They also have a full-service beauty salon and fitness centre. Some of the spa amenities & treatments are at an additional cost.
A unique feature offered are the Luxury Moments including Champagne parties, lobster nights & tequila, wine and food pairings.
An absolutely lovely, luxurious resort.
